About
Inkpots was founded to create a genuine sense of community for writers. Writing is often, and by necessity, a solitary act, and it can get lonely. But writers need colleagues as much as any other profession.
At Inkpots we believe in support, encouragement and shared learning. Helping writers develop their skills and confidence through practical workshops, meet-ups, mentoring and more.
Why Inkpots?
Because writing is about more than publication. Some write with hopes of seeing their words in print. Others write to process, to remember or simply because they must.
And every writer deserves a space to explore, create, and grow. Publication isn’t the only marker of success - every word you write builds your craft, your confidence, and your voice.
Writing is a craft. Like music or art, it takes time to develop. You put in the hours, play to the empty rooms, hone your skills.
Writing is no different.
Some say it takes 10,000 hours, or maybe a million words, to master a craft.
And maybe this is true (we think it probably is). But one thing is for sure, you cannot do it alone.
Hi, I'm Toria
You don’t have to be published to take your writing seriously (I’m not. Yet. But I’m getting there. One word, one page, one chapter at a time).
Before Inkpots, I spent over 25 years in finance and leadership, including many years at Saatchi & Saatchi, working closely with UK & European leadership teams. I understand branding, communication, and strategic thinking - skills just as essential to a writer as to a business leader.
But writing isn’t just about business or craft. It’s about life, connection, and the stories we carry.
Stories shaped me. They were my refuge when I needed them most. I know what it means to feel alone. To feel unheard. And I know how the power of stories can bring us back to ourselves.
That’s why I started writing.
That’s why I created Inkpots.
A place for writers.
A place where story matters.
WHY you
Creative Storytelling
Writing isn't just about getting published - the path to that itself can be a long and winding road. Writing is about learning the craft, and it is about you. Your voice. Your story.
At Inkpots you'll find support, encouragement, tools, and time to make a start and keep going - whether starting with that first spark, or heading on to draft four.
And company. Don't forget the company.
Writing for Work
Not all writing is fiction. Words shape businesses too. Blogs, books, newsletters, strategy. They all carry your voice into the world. The question is: does it sound like you?
In a landscape drowning in the vanilla of AI, your unique voice is what makes you, and your business, stand out. At Inkpots we help professionals, creatives, and entrepreneurs tell their stories with clarity and confidence. We help you make sure your words are entirely your own - and unmistakably human.
Writing for You
Not all writing needs to be shared.
Sometimes the words are messy, and the writing is where you think things through. Where ideas take shape. Where you notice what you really think before the world answers for you.
Inkpots makes space for that writing too. The pages that help you hear yourself clearly, without pressure to publish or polish.
Because writing is part of how we pay attention to our own lives.
The Inkpots Way
Our Purpose
To provide space for writers who need to write.
Company for those who don’t want to go it alone.
And permission for those ready to begin.
We support creative work in all its forms: messy, meaningful, unfinished, unfolding.
Because stories matter. And so do the people who write them.
Our Mission
Inkpots exists to support writers, whether they’re beginning, returning, or deepening their craft.
We offer space, structure, and support through workshops, events, membership, resources and community.
We are a community of writerly colleagues.
By Writers. For Writers. With Writers.
The Inkpots Creative Code
This isn’t a list of rules, it’s a shared understanding.
A way of showing up for yourself, your words and each other.
At Inkpots, we believe in four guiding principles:
Support. Inspire. Share. Learn.
We believe:
Writing is a craft, not a competition.
Every voice matters, and no story is too small.
Feedback works best when it's kind, honest and useful.
You never need permission to start, but it helps to feel welcomed.
Showing up counts, even when the words don’t flow.
There’s no one right way to write. But there are ways to support each other while we do.
We write with care.
We read with respect.
We support, inspire, share and learn.
Every step of the way.
"The universe is made of stories, not atoms."
